The Application Context
On the seafront of Agropoli, in the province of Salerno, stands the B&B Break For Two: a recently renovated structure that is inspired by the well-being of travelers thanks to the great mix of romance, sophistication, and technology. The architectural project of the Bed and Breakfast has been realized with the aim of creating comfortable environments in the Mediterranean style. The setting is the classic one of the Mediterranean structures, where white prevails over everything and the furniture is reduced to a minimum. Showers are large and visible, with the possibility of darkening them with a motorized curtain. The four-poster bed recalls exotic scenarios, while the brick sofa and giftware are in full Mediterranean style. All the rooms have been optimized to make the most of the space available.
Customer Requests
The Bed and Breakfast have been designed to accommodate couples of tourists and provide them with all comforts and services to enjoy the different moments of the day and relax after a busy day at sea or visiting the historic corners of Cilento. For this reason, the B&B Break For Two boasts the presence of automation in all fields: from the thermal part to the multimedia part, up to energy-saving and consumption control. A new concept of extra-hotel management, which aims at the freedom of the managers and the complete autonomy of the guests, for a more and more satisfying stay experience. All this, thanks to the KNX home automation system.
Ekinex Solutions
Ekinex products have been chosen for their ability to manage the hotel system both by the customer and by the manager of the facility. Customers can create scenarios with soft lighting associated with specific music playlists and thanks to the iPad included in each room can manage lights, motorized curtains, air conditioning, and music box Sonos. The app also includes tourist information on Agropoli and its surroundings and useful information for room management by the same customer. The Ipad can also be used to manage the air conditioning system, but it will go into standby mode if one of the windows remains open for more than 2 minutes. The buttons in the 'NF' version of the FF series in white plastic are native to KNX. They have personalized silkscreens in order to facilitate the use by customers. Remotely, the facility manager can monitor electricity and water consumption, check the existing automation and reset the technological devices in case of temporary malfunctions. It will also be possible to automate the opening of the entrance doors, thus giving guests greater flexibility with regard to check-in times.
